Swim stands for "Student Work Interaction Module". At Simon Fraser University's new campus there was a problem with displaying work. There were rooms and rooms of students producing digital art, from web and print design to 3D animation, but no true showcase. SWIM was a proposal for a display that would showcase selected works by students in the area, based on RFID. The basic principle was if a student entered a room using his already existing keycard, the system would add up to 5 pieces of his work to the wall. The wall could then be navigated by a viewer to look closer at works by using simple gesture.
In this project, I tasked with creating a prototype of the system on a Smartboard (large touchscreen) using Flash Actionscript and an Phidget RFID reader module.
